Part A – Sponsorship, advertising & endorsements
12.1 Sponsors and advertisers
USEIA may accept sponsorships and advertising to support its programs, events, newsletters, and the GOTV Awards. Sponsored content, ads, and sponsor recognition will be clearly labeled (for example, "Sponsored," "Advertisement," or "Presented by").
12.2 No endorsement
Sponsorship or advertising does not mean USEIA endorses a sponsor, its products or services, or any candidate, party, or ballot measure, and it does not give the sponsor any control over USEIA's positions, editorial content, or Awards results. Sponsors and advertisers have no influence on nominations, the diligence/context review, or the industry Q&A. Sponsorship and advertising payments made in 2026 may count as Eligible Payments that generate GOTV Awards votes on the same basis as any other payer (1 vote per $1, per category), as described in the GOTV Awards Rules, Section 6.7. Sponsors receive no other voting advantage. Award results reflect payment-weighted votes, and public announcements will say so.
12.3 Material connections (FTC Endorsement Guides)
When USEIA, its staff, or people speaking on its behalf recommend or review a product or service and have a material connection to the provider (for example, the provider is a paying sponsor or member, or we receive compensation, free products, or affiliate commissions), we will disclose that connection clearly and close to the recommendation. We do not use affiliate links. Testimonials reflect the experience of the individuals quoted and are not a guarantee of results.
12.4 Sponsor data
We do not provide sponsors with members' or users' personal information unless the individual expressly opts in at the point of collection (for example, a clearly labeled checkbox). Otherwise, sponsors receive only aggregate, non-identifying reports.
Part B – Member directory & data-sharing
12.5 Online member directory
USEIA publishes an online member directory. The full rules are in the Terms of Use, Section 1.20 and the Privacy Policy, Section 3.14, and they control. In summary: listings show only selected professional fields. Listing is opt-in and never a condition of membership. The directory is public. Directory pages are noindex and blocked for AI crawlers. Scraping and bulk use are prohibited. Members may change or remove listings at any time.
12.6 Directory consent language (checkout and account page)
"☐ List me/my firm in the USEIA online member directory at ElectionIndustry.com. I consent to display the fields I select below to the public. I understand public listings can be seen and copied by others and may appear in search results. I can change or remove my listing at any time."
Fields (each separately selectable): ☐ name / firm name; ☐ membership type; ☐ city/state; ☐ title; ☐ business website; ☐ business email; ☐ business phone; ☐ services/specialties; ☐ logo/photo; ☐ short bio.
12.7 Other data sharing
Except as described in this document, the Terms of Use, and the Privacy Policy, we do not share member information with third parties. Information collected for the Data-Removal Services is never used for the directory, sponsors, or marketing. We do not sell personal information.
