7.1 Who we are – and who we are not

The United States Election Industry Association ("USEIA"), operated by U.S. Election Industry Association, a Wyoming nonprofit corporation, is a membership trade association that advocates for the interests of the election industry – the professionals, firms, vendors, and organizations whose work supports elections and voter engagement.

USEIA is not a candidate, campaign, political party, political action committee (PAC), or political committee, and it is not a government agency or election authority. USEIA is not affiliated with any government election office – confirm.

7.2 Non-partisan; no endorsements

USEIA serves election-industry members regardless of their own or their clients' political affiliations. USEIA does not endorse, support, or oppose any candidate for public office, political party, or ballot measure. References on the Site to any candidate, party, campaign, or ballot measure – including in news items, member listings, sponsorships, or the GOTV Awards – are for informational or professional-recognition purposes only and are not endorsements. Statements by members, sponsors, speakers, nominees, or award winners are their own and do not represent USEIA's views.

7.3 No contributions solicited

USEIA does not solicit or accept contributions to any candidate, party, or political committee through this Site. Nothing on this Site is a solicitation of a political contribution.

7.4 Membership dues are not political contributions

Membership dues are payments for trade-association membership. They are not political contributions and are not used to make contributions to candidates, parties, or political committees. If USEIA later establishes a PAC or separate segregated fund, any solicitation will be made separately, only to persons permitted by law, with the disclosures required by law, and contributions will be voluntary.

7.5 Tax treatment of dues

USEIA is a Wyoming nonprofit corporation. Its federal tax-exempt status has not been determined. USEIA does not claim 501(c)(6) or any other tax-exempt status at this time.

Payments to USEIA are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes. Dues may be deductible as an ordinary and necessary business expense, subject to limitations, including the non-deductibility of amounts attributable to lobbying and political activities. Please consult your tax advisor. USEIA does not provide tax advice.

7.6 GOTV Awards payments

Payments to the Association that count toward GOTV Awards votes (dues, purchases, and other payments described in the Awards Rules) are payments to a trade association, not contributions to any candidate, party, political committee, or campaign, and they are not charitable contributions. Award results reflect payment-weighted votes and are not an endorsement of any candidate, party, or ballot measure.

7.7 No election administration role

USEIA does not run elections, count ballots, certify results, or register voters. For official election information, contact your state or local election office.
