About us
The U.S. Election Industry Association (ElectionIndustry.com) is a nonpartisan trade association that advocates for the interests of the election industry: the consultants, campaign managers, vendors, and firms who do the work of campaigns and elections. We are organized as a Wyoming nonprofit corporation and based in Nashville, Tennessee.
The role
This is the person who grows our membership. You'll recruit and onboard political consultants, campaign managers, and firms of every size, and make sure they get enough value to renew year after year. We're looking for someone with a wide network across campaigns and the election industry, who knows how to open doors and can turn a phone call into a signed-up member.
What you'll do
- Recruit individual members (consultants, campaign managers, staff) and member firms across the country, on both sides of the aisle and among nonpartisan vendors.
- Run onboarding for new members: welcome calls, getting them set up, and connecting them to the right programs and people.
- Own renewals. Track who is coming due, check in before it lapses, and fix problems before members leave.
- Build and work a prospect list from your own network, industry events, referrals, and campaign filings.
- Represent the Association at conferences, trainings, and industry gatherings.
- Collect member feedback and bring it back to leadership to shape programs and advocacy.
- Keep clean records of prospects, members, and renewals and report results weekly.
What you need
- A wide network in politics, campaigns, and the election industry, and the ability to get people on the phone.
- A track record of opening doors: you've set meetings with people who don't usually take them.
- Experience selling through relationships: fundraising, sales, business development, membership, or sponsorship.
- Nonpartisan professionalism. You can work with Republicans, Democrats, independents, and nonpartisan vendors, and keep your own politics out of the job.
- Comfort being measured on results.
- Clear writing, good follow-up, and organized records.
- Able to work on-site in Nashville, TN and travel to industry events as needed.
Nice to have
- Experience as a campaign manager, consultant, or staffer at a political firm or vendor.
- Prior work in a trade association, chamber, or membership organization.
- Experience with event, awards, or conference sponsorship.
- Familiarity with a CRM (HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar).
- Relationships in Tennessee and the Southeast, in addition to a national network.
Compensation
Base pay is $5,500 per month ($66,000 per year). On top of base, you'll earn uncapped incentive compensation tied to new members recruited and renewals retained. Details of the incentive plan will be shared during interviews.
How to apply
Email Winning@ElectionIndustry.com with the subject line "Associate Director, Membership & Industry Relations". Include your resume and a short note about your network: who you know in campaigns and the election industry, and one example of a door you opened that mattered. Applications are reviewed as they come in.
Equal opportunity
The U.S. Election Industry Association is an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, genetic information, political affiliation, or any other characteristic protected by law.
